Abstract:Industrial espionage led to the need for the inventor's patent, idealistically intended to protect the creator's rights during his lifetime while assuring that after his death the community could share his discovery. With the development of electronics, industrial espionage has advanced to enormous proportions. There have been many famous documented cases of thefts of secrets. The question is what to be done about the future of industrial espionage? Outcome of a war against it depends on the loyalty, honesty, and moral strength of those within the system.
