Abstract:Employee development is characterized as a complex of processes comprising the planning, organizing, performing and controlling activities which have the common aim to raise qualifications within a company. The growing importance of employee development is highlighted. The elements of an effective employee development system are described. The results of a survey of 100 middle-sized companies are summarized. The empirical relationships among the elements of employee development systems of these companies are examined with the use of statistical methods. The results show that the efficiency depends on the equal quality and intensity of informing, training and job-related developing employees.
