Abstract:The USA Congress, State Department, and Environmental Protection Agency have been investigating the cruel twist to Africa's debt crisis. Desperate for foreign exchange, African nations are accepting toxic wastes generated in Western industrialized countries. There are growing indications that at least six African countries have agreed to house the hazardous material in exchange for sums of money rivaling their annual gross national products. A number of statistical data are presented. The issue of toxic and/or nuclear waste dumping is already under close scrutiny in the European Parliament. At the same time a workable USA policy is being devised.
