Abstract:Strategies must answer questions on gaining competitive advantage,on how to exploit change,on anticipating the implications of competitors' strategies. The process needs to be üdebureaucraticized and directed to strategic thinking. Strategies should be responsive to environmental changes,and it is vital to ensure that goal remain creative. Strategic management is an evolutionary process that needs to be differentiated and by-exception based. The method will vary in every company. The case of General Electric,the causes of the changes,the problems of the implementation and the results are described in details.
