Abstract:The research for a practical, flow-oriented planning perspective has been motivated by several factors: the increased visibility of communications, growing interest in fully exploiting information technology resources, and the need to qualify each new element of the overall communications architecture. A model of such a process is tested, and results show that analysis of information flow can identify new opportunities, substantiate the case for implementing new technologies, and help elevate the role of information networking in a business organization.
