| Abstract: | The economy of Spain is analyzed. General trends are summarized. GDP data are compared with that of other countries. The structure of the economy is outlined. Data are presented about GDP by sector. Statistics are presented about population trends. Unemployment rates of Spain and certain OECD countries are compared. A table is showing labour force by employment sector. Consumption data are discussed by sector. The impact of EEC membership is discussed. The likely future trends are summarized. Spain's principal economic problems lie in the fields of unemployment and inflation. Increase is expected in individual prosperity resulting from the anticipated increase of GNP. |
