The age structure is projected to 2000. The country is compared with West European neighbours. The housing stock is analysed. Economic development is evaluated. The structure of foreign merchandise trade is discussed. Attention is given to the current account balance. Changes in employment are highlighted. The structure of the workforce is examined. Consumption patterns are outlined based on household statistics. A future outlook is summarized, the official projections of economic development are presented. |
