Abstract:The conference is now an integral part of a company's communication strategy. The changes already in effect in industry are discussed in the light of possible budget cutbacks. The emphasis is now on interaction. Delegates are encouraged to participate and contribute. Facilities are appropriately being geared to create an informal atmosphere. The computer and insurance industries are the most numerous users of the conference medium. Hotels claim that they are better equipped to provide high standards of accommodation and service. But they often fall down in capacity and lack of specialist expertise.
