Abstract: | Recently, there has been extensive evaluation of unemployment insurance (UI) reforms in the United States. The proposed reforms generally have sought to improve the reemployment prospects of UI claimants and reduce the budgetary costs of UI. A novel aspect of many of these recent evaluations is that they have been true social experiments where individuals were randomly assigned into either a group subject to special treatmrnt and incentives, or a group that received existing services and incentives. |
