Abstract:Robert Corfe looks at how the British business system is portrayed as successful and benign in contributing to world harmony, contrasting this with the 'unfair' and 'cut throat' systems of our toughest competitors. The author believes that these are merely cultural prejudices stemming from contrasting systems of capitalism -- not to mention differing attitudes towards the law. The author of this article claims that it is important to distinguish clearly between economic and political nationalism.
