| Abstract: | An issue which investors face on a continuing basis is the question of how much effort to expend in attempting to monitor and influence the actions of the companies in which they hold significant investments. This paper presents some of the raw results from a survey of 156 venture capital firms in Europe. This paper is aimed answering the following questions with regard to the European venture capital industry: What factors influence the level of the venture capitalists' involvement? and, What impact do these factors have on the roles played by venture capitalists? |
