| Abstract: | This article explores some of the key facets of the transformations process from a planned socialist system to a market economy occurring in organizations, using examples from two companies in former East Germany. These examples illustrate the particular difficulties confronting these companies because of the fact that managers are focusing on changing the structures of the organizations but their mindsets and those of other employees are not changing as fast. |
