| Abstract: | During the transition period toward the market economy, wage policies should not only maintain the continuity of the government's current management policies over enterprises but also more actively towards the goal. The measures that China should be adopted include: to straighten out the wage management system; to weaken administrative and directive plans; to foster the mechanism that wages of enterprise employees are determined by the market; and to explore ways of autonomous allocation by enterprises. |
