| Abstract: | This paper contributes to the small but important literature on emotions in the workplace. Moving beyond rational and economic views of employees, the authors integrate diverse literatures and use archival data to show that positive affect has favourable outcomes at work in terms of supervisor evaluation and coworker support. The impact of positive and negative emotions is a rich area of research about organizations. This paper draws on writings in psychology, sociology and organizational behaviour to develop a conceptual framework. |
