| Abstract: | Smiles are returning to the faces of bankers in anticipation of an economic recovery this year, reports Jim Bodgener. Turkey's banking sector is approaching a European Union customs union by the end of 1995 and is gradually struggling out of the morass of the country's foreign exchange and general economic crisis. Optimism is emerging about recovery, buoyed by the dynamic resilience of the economy. The difficult times in 1994 separated the good from the bad banks. |
