Abstract:Market models have long been used to predict market share as a consequence of various market inputs. This research uses market models to estimate market response in an effort to gain better insights into the behavior of buyers in an industrial market in response to various elements in the marketing mix. The independent variables for the models in this research are not the traditional inputs, but rather are perceptual data gathered from a positioning study involving firms marketing an industrial glass commodity product.
