Abstract: | This case study describes the history and user evaluation of an expert system (ES) designed to deal with transport regulations at a large British company. The development of the ES reaffirmed a number of issues that have been raised in previous ES evaluations, namely the importance of having an enthusiastic expert, of employing a qualified knowledge engineer and of involving the users in the design and implementation of the system. |
