| Abstract: | Can ancient forecasting methods help us to achieve greater objectivity in looking into the future? Perhaps, after all we can learn from history. In particular, a study of historical forecasting methods may well lead to an introspection of modern management procedures. Since there is a huge range of forecasting methods, discussing them will be difficult without a classification method. Lewinsohn has provided one, which has the advantage of allowing the inclusion and development of methods from astrology to ARIMA, from cloud watching to regression. His method forms the base of the discussion in this article. |
