Abstract: | The paper treats the presentation of the Warnier/Orr's diagram as an effective means for analysis and planning as applied for the display of hierarchic systems. The Warnier/Orr's diagram displays the system in horizontal form and is based on the principle that every ancestor can have a number of descendants, but every descendant can have only one ancestor. The basic elements of the Warnier/Orr's diagram are sequence, selection and repetition. These elements are sufficient to define the logic diagrams of processes and data structures. The basic elements have been added three more logic relations such as hierarchy, simultaneity and recurrency.By means of such an effective structure of elements the Warnier/Orr's diagram has become an extremely powerful tool for the display of real world models. |
