| Abstract: | The results of a survey designed to provide an understanding of forecasting practices in the manufacturing industry are presented. Do forecasting practices in manufacturing differ from those in service industries? What are the unique forecasting problems facing manufacturing managers given the characteristics of their environment? The answers to these questions lead to possible solutions to forecasting related problems in the manufacturing industry. |
