Abstract:In 1995, the so-called "hot outside and cold inside" economic development sign became manifest in HongKong and Taiwan. The foreign trade maintained an active and rapid growth, but the local consumption demands were not great, presenting a situation of slump. Their economic growth rates have slowed down, to some extent, and entered the period of economic adjustment in succession. The main factors influencing the long-term economic development in HongKong and Taiwan include the development trends of world economy and trade, the prospects for the economic development in China's inland areas and the adjustment and transformation of industrial structures in HongKong and Taiwan.
