Abstract:Drunk on foreign money? Favorite drinking game in Beijing these days involves two players guessing what number his opponent is thinking and stretegically adding it to his own. The rules are not that complicated, and the only important one that really counts is that the loser swigs beer. It is fast paced and the more you play it, the harder it is to maintain the sobriety that allows to stay ahead. Chinese brewers are experiencing a similar problem. Not long ago foreign beers were relatively rare and too expensive to compete seriously with domestic brands.
