| Abstract: | Smart cards deliver much more than electronic money; they also will control people's access to a growing number of public facilities. Smart cards will soon exist in virtually every area of our lives. Many industry experts see Europe as being on the leading edge of smart card use. The cards come in several varieties like unprotected memory cards, wired-logic memory cards and microprocessor cards or contactless cards. Private or public key encryption ? Many ISO standards.
