Abstract:China's mainland ranks first in Hong Kong's places of importing clothing. Hong Kong's import volume in 1995 was 87 million Hong Kong dollars, accounting for 89.2% of the total import volume. It first four places of exporting clothing are America, Germany, UK. and China's mainland. After Hong Kong's return to the motherland, the mainland's and Hong Kong's clothing industries will be mutually complementary in superiorities and cooperate further. As a result, the development of clothing industry in the central and western areas will be brought along too. With Hong Kong's return to the motherland, the state will certainly issue a serial of corresponding preferential policies on tariff, finance and tax collection, which will bring Chinese consumers more benefits, such as the prices of clothing to be decreased and more varieties of clothing.
