Abstract: | Equity theory assumes that to determine the equitableness of the employer/employee relationship, employees compare their investments and outcomes to those of others, in particular co-workers. This study shows that perception of inequity is related to intentions to withdraw, to report sick, to leave, and to absence behaviour , that deprived employees were less likely to leave the organization when they felt involved in their jobs, and that deprived employees who perceived an intolerant group absence norm were less apt to report sick. |
