| Abstract: | Hospitals today face increasing pressure to reduce costs while providing high quality patient care. Several factors have traditionally hindered hospital attempts to reduce costs such as the lack of adequate physician incentives, poor quality of cost information and the inability to streamline processes because of reimbursement considerations. |
