Abstract: | A hypercompetitive environment presents a challenging context for strategy formulation. In this article the authors present a case study of Pepsi Canada's strategy success in a hypercompetitive environment. Using qualitative methods of analysis the authors develop an event history of the industry and the firm, and causal maps of internal strategic and annual planning documents. From the case study the authors derive a set of propositions that identify criteria for success in such an environment. |
