| Abstract: | Many joint ventures fail to achieve their potential, and joint venture failure rates remain high, frustrating the efforts of many firms to capitalize on alliance strategies. A key problem may be in recognition that a joint venture is the first step in a multiple-step relationship. How a firm benefits from a joint venture is highly dependent on what each partner is committed to do and actually does over an extended period of time. |
