Abstract:The authors of the article examined the effect of work group processes (charismatic leadership and commu- nication-cooperation) on the evolution of group potency among newly formed work groups. The paper provides results showing that these processes affected changes in group potency over time, that initial performance mediated these effects, and that group potency was related to subsequent group satisfaction, group effort, and group performance. The author also states that group potency also mediated the relationships between work group processes and group effort and performance.
