| Abstract: | The relationship btw. social and environmental dimension regarding sustainable development has been rather neglected in the research. This article aims to find frameworks for analyzing the environmental-social interface. It is argued that different geographical and temporal scales and situational contexts require their own frameworks, which may provide a mosaic of partly contradicting views of reality instead of giving one coherent picture. Capabilities and social capital are useful in conceptualizing the social phenomena. However, they do not offer ready toolkits for measuring the environmental-social interface. |
