| Abstract: | In this article, the author considers how to reconcile status quo maintenance (SQM) with traditional consumer theory. This article aims to avoid letting agentsÂ’ preferences change as a function of their endowments, treating the same person with different endowments as a set of distinct agents. This allows to better judge whether an agentÂ’s decisions make the agent better or worse off. |
