| Abstract: | This paper provides new evidence of the extent to which perceptions (here as: percs.) of environmental uncertainty (dynamism, complexity and hostility) discriminate btw. small firms engaged in product innovation. Novel innovators appear to be marked by percs. of uncertainty in market and technological environments, but by percs. of a relatively certain or benign competitive environment. In addition, some dissimilarities btw. manufacturing and service firms are observed. |
