Abstract:The article introduces an empirical study of UK companies, in which the rates of charitable donations against profit before tax are analysed. Two groups of companies are categorized as high and low visibility using a method based on public recognition of company name. The hypothesis, that higher visibility companies would give more to charity due to higher stakeholder demands, is supported.
