Abstract: | This study aims to characterize the different methods in terms of the actors' competencies (here as: acts-comps). Described methods are as follows: multidimensional analysis, social network analysis, and what is called 'composition of egocentric heterogeneous networks'. It is suggested that from one method to the next, the acts-comps. are enhanced. Consequently, the sociologist's ability to perceive the emergence of new categories increases, in endowing human and non-human actors (as: acts.) with larger and richer competencies (as: comps.), he upgrades his own comps. as an analyst. In addition, productive interactions btw. him and the studied acts. are made easier. |
