| Abstract: | This article estimates econometrically the economic return on education among Portuguese hotel managers, based on a survey carried out un 2003. It is shown that the rate of return is in the range 12-15%, which indicates that Portuguese hotel managers are better paid than average population. In this sector, the return on education does not depend on the number of employees in the hotels in which the individuals works, nor on the region where the hotel is situated. Gender does have an effect in this labour market. |
