Abstract: | This paper aims at arguing the relevance of knowledge management (KM) to the development of social capital (hereafter as: soc-cap.), and to enhancing the capacity (as: cpty.) to take effective action in human social systems. It is found that 1. soc-cap. mostly comprises knowledge, 2. the cpty. to individually and collectively learn in networks is arguably the most important form of soc-cap., 3. due to the importance of learning and innovation to the production of soc-cap., KM has an important role to play in related development efforts. |
