Abstract:Ireland is the most foreign direct investment (hereafter as FDI)-intensive country in Europe. This article reviews how FDI-oriented development strategy has influenced to the institutional structure of the economy since the 1960s. A range of factors have helped IrelandÂ’s success in attracting FDI. For example Ireland has managed to respond rapidly and flexibly to changes in the global FDI environment.
