Abstract: | This article presents a new generalized model of tourism distribution that pays attention to the needs of tourist segments and the functions required to fulfill those needs. Number of empirical findings from New Zealand and previous literature synthesized in order to develop a needs-functions model. This paper offers for individual suppliers an example to consider their distribution channels and intermediaries. More generalized the needs-functions model develops better understanding of the role contextual factors play in shaping distribution strategies. |
