Abstract: | This research paper offers an in depth analysis of development and destruction of entrepreneurial networks. Qualitative findings are based on interviews of actors working in academic and business contexts. A grounded theory approach was used to develop a model of dynamic knowledge networks in new venture settings. The new 3C model has three dimensions: knowledge exchange, knowledge structure and network dynamics which are considered in three venture phases: conceptualization, commercialization and cultivation. The findings reveal that entrepreneurs build and destroy networks according to their knowledge needs. Cross-boundary knowledge exchange plays an important role in entrepreneurial networks. However, more research is needed in different contexts to give a wider perspective on knowledge networks. |
