Abstract: | This paper aims at the following: i. measuring the differences in importance of cultural values btw. Turkish hosts and European guests, ii. measuring perceived cultural difference (or: distance, here as: c-d.) to see if importance of cultural values (here as: c-vls.) are commensurate with c-d. perception, iii. identifying potential influence of perceived c-d. on job satisfaction (here as: j-s.) for Turkish service providers (or: hosts) and trip satisfaction (here as: t-s.) for European consumers (or: guests). A survey research was performed in the Southwest tourist towns of Turkey to collect data from Turkish service providers and European tourists. Two stepwise regression analyses were used to assess the magnitude of the relative impact of variables on hosts' j-s. and guests' t-s. Despite found differences in c-vls., c-d. perception and satisfaction, there was revealed no influence of perceived c-d. on satisfaction for either hosts or guests. |
