Abstract:This study aims to gain insights into the effect of labour market institutions on the dynamics of the labour market during the new technologies diffusion process. An endogenous job destruction matching framework is developed, with heterogeneous workers, where the labour market segmentation (herein as: sgmtn.)btw. workers have the required ability for a technological job and the rest of the workers is endogenous. The sgmtn. dynamics may follow a monotonous decreasing path or a non-monotonous U-shaped path depending on the unemployment benefit system. In the case of generous benefits, it is the U-shaped case in question.
