Abstract:More and more management consulting firms are moving their businesses abroad, so many, that the consulting industry has become quite international. It is examined two firms' very different methods of expanding abroad. They shared at home the same high reputation, but one was mainly noted for its thoroughness, built on a confided and widely shared professional experience. The other one was famous for its creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, which grew out of a culture where pluralism dominated. A comparative analysis is provided to reveal any commonalities. A third case study for comparison is also included - a firm whose international branching strategy did not succeed.
