Abstract:Many people - especially victims of software hype - expect too much of computers in general and PSs in particular. Although computers know only what programmers tell them. Users are limited in the number of consideration they can juggle when they try to make a decision, but computers aren't. Computers give the user the ability to take a great many factors into account in his decisions. Advertisements claim that the software does all the work; user friendly programs make everything seem easy. Business analysis on the PC, however, requires skills unfamiliar to many business people. Consumers need to know how to spot errors, producers must know how to avoid it. There are described the most common errors in business programming using PCs.
