Abstract:Local wage bargaining games are examined to see how they affect workers' incomes, profits and equilibrium employment. The purpose is to rank different bargaining environments according these variables. Four kinds of industrial actions - as unions' threats - are considered: work-to-rules; go-slow; wild cat strikes; official strikes and lock-outs. The mathematical presentation is organized as follows: the set-up and the wage equation; equilibrium employment; income generation; the credible threats when all kinds of industrial actions are legal. Concluding remarks are made on legislation and the bargaining power of the unions.
