Abstract: | The employers can ignore the loss of productivity and potential for costly damage caused by drug-using employees. Testing job applicants for drug use is the most common - and most controversial - method for eliminating drug users from the work force. Two types of tests are discussed: screening and confirmatory. Serious problems connected with the accuracy are mentioned. Legal issues are thoroughly analyzed. The need for written management policies, consistent with other corporate policies, is emphasized. |
