Abstract:Using the Saudi car market as a case study, the relationships between forms of power and satisfaction are examined within a franchise arrangement. Opportunities for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of this type of distribution arrangement are proposed. Non-coercive sources of influence are found to be strongest, and advertising, sales training and promotional assistance are all advocated to improve this relationship. Implications conjured up by the study and that may be potentially useful are also discussed.
