Abstract: | Should managers adapt an economic, "rational" approach to decision-making, or a behavioral approach? The set of behavioral arguments. The behavioral theory of choice, its deficiencies. The economic choice and its dependence on perfect knowledge. Social influences on economic choice. Neither economic, nor behavioral approach is wholly adequate. Both must be incorporated into a new, more comprehensive theoretical model for effective decision-making. The main steps toward a unified decision theory by way of Artificial Intelligence programs. Integrated partial decision models. More and more managerial problems are tackled collectively and require a paradigm of collective choice. |
