Abstract:If a chief executive officer of a large corporation has a graduate degree, it likely is an MBA (master of business administration). Some interesting data have been revealed concerning the individuals who head the companies. The report is about college attendance, degrees received, institutions attended, age and tenure, and types of companies. The proportion of CEOs (chief executive officers) with graduate degrees approximated the proportion of companies in different classifications. Holders of the MBA did not accede to the CEO post any faster than others with graduate degrees. Compared to all CEOs the executives with any graduate degree did show a quicker movement to the top.
