Abstract:The first-line supervisors and managers are unable to pass information on to their employees, cannot accurately answer grapevine questions and concerns, and feel isolated and frustrated. Like to their employees, supervisors are reluctant to let higher management know about ideas, issues and problems. Apathy and cynicism become the company norm. The downward communication block has produced an upward communication block and invariably, individuals begin to behave according to the way they have been treated.
