Abstract:Action-related suggestions are provided to assist managers in establishing ethical priorities at three levels: an individual level, a group level and an organizational level. Each of these levels is explored, and the benefits and disadvantages of different action-related strategies for encouraging an ethical awareness are assessed. The most important actions include: ethics-training programs, appreciation of individual differences, group seminars, mentor schemes, formal codes of ethics, ethical policy statements, ethical ombudsperson, ethics committees, realistic performance and reward plans. Many companies consciously and actively promote their corporate culture, which naturally affects the ethical values of personnel.
